Embark on an immersive journey into the realm of neurotechnology at Reykjavik University in Iceland, where the “NeurotechEU Summer School on EEG Functional Connectivity” awaits. Mark your calendars for on-site participation from May 28–30, 2024, promising three days of in-depth exploration on neurotechnology and electroencephalography functional connectivity, providing participants with valuable insights into the field. 

Those who are aiming to receive 2 ECTS accreditation are requested to read preparatory material. Prepare yourself by delving into specially curated material, set to be available by April 2024. The culmination of your educational adventure involves completing a final assignment, due by June 21st, 2024. Join us in this journey of the mind, where knowledge and experience converge to shape the future of neurotechnology.

  • Electroencephalography (EEG) data collection
  • EEG preprocessing
  • EEG functional connectivity
  • Combining EEG and machine learning
     

Program Coordinators

Prof. Gargiulo is a full professor at Reykjavik University expert in electrophysiological signal processing with a special interest in EEG basic and advanced data analysis.

Prof. Hassan is an adjunct professor at Reykjavik University and specializes in EEG functional connectivity and the development of new advanced tools to analyze EEG in cognitive and clinical neuroscience.

Prof Garguilo and Prof. Hassan are also co-founders of Heila-labs https://heilalabs.com/, a start-up company aiming at promoting EEG in concrete clinical applications.

 

Profile of participants

The summer school target audiences are Masters students and PhD candidates in neuroscientific disciplines, bioengineering, clinical or neuro psychology, data science and neurobiological sciences.

In order to apply for a scholarship, you must be a master student enrolled at the University of Bonn or doctoral student employed at the University of Bonn/ University Hospital Bonn.

To receive a NeurotechEU scholarship for the Summer School in Reykjavik, please send the following documents to our NTEU Project Office:

  • Motivation letter (max. one page)
  • CV
  • Transcript of Records of your current study program (MA students)
  • Verification of your status at Uni Bonn

Accommodation, travel costs and lunch during the three-day stay will be covered by NeurotechEU.
