Karolinska Institutet is pleased to announce and invite you to the NeurotechEU Neuro Innovation Summit – „Next Generation – Skills, Talent, Careers & Innovation”, organized as part of the General Assembly within the framework of NeurotechEU. The Neuro Innovation Summit, which is targeted to Master’s students and doctoral candidates, will take place from May 11–13, 2026, onsite in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Neuro Innovation Summit is bringing together leading researchers, students, innovators, and partners from all NeurotechEU alliance members. Focusing on the theme „Next Generation – Skills, Talent, Careers & Innovation” the event explores how emerging technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration are shaping the future of neuroscience and neurotechnology. Through keynote sessions, panels, and interactive workshops, a variety of topics will be presented and discussed. Students will be participating in hands-on training sessions covering MEG, data analysis, and coding. 

Key Topics

  • Training session 1:
    Digital Brain Atlases – How to Use EBRAINS Atlas Services with the Siibra Tool Suite and Voluba
  • Training session 2:
    Electrophysiology – Managing and Analyzing Electrophysiology Data Using Neo and Elephant
  • Training session 3:
    Computational Neuroscience – The Virtual Brain/Digital Twins

Program Structure

Day 1 - Summit in focus 

Through keynotes, startup presentations, and alliance initiatives, the day provides a comprehensive overview of how neurotechnology is progressing from research to practical applications.

Day 2 – Training sessions

Students will participate in hands-on training sessions covering MEG, data analysis, and coding.

Day 3 – Training session and social event

Training session “Basic Python for Neuroscientists”. In the afternoon, all students are invited to a joint social event.

Target Group

  • Master students
  • PhD candidates

All target groups must be either NeurotechEU students or people employed at the University of Bonn. Candidates from other programs of study or institutions are not eligible. Synapses participants are particularly encouraged to apply.

Selected participants receive a fully funded NeurotechEU scholarship, which will cover your expenses for travel and accommodation.

How can you apply?

To be considered for a NeurotechEU scholarship for the Neuro Innovation Summit, please send the following documents to the NTEU Project Office in Bonn by the given deadline:

  • Motivation letter (max. one page) – please indicate which training session you would like to attend!
  • CV
  • Transcript of Records of your current study program (This applies to Master‘s students)
  • Verification of your status at Uni Bonn

Following the Summit, all scholarship holders are expected to create a testimonial about their experience with NeurotechEU (more information to follow!).
