This one-week immersive course examines how neurotechnologies shape the daily lives of patients and users. Each day focuses on a major clinical use case combining lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and interactions with real users. Throughout the course, clinical indications, device architectures, signal processing, evaluation methods, ethics and regulation, accessibility, risk-benefit trade-offs, and long-term follow-up will be discussed by bringing together clinicians, neuroscientists, engineers, ethicists, and industry partners.
Participants will learn to understand the fundamentals of electrophysiology relevant to neurotechnology and how to apply this knowledge to interpret device operation, to explain and compare clinical indications of major neurotechnologies, and to critically evaluate patient impact and outcome measures through case studies and evidence-based discussion.

All target groups must either be NeurotechEU students or employees of the University of Bonn. Candidates from other programmes of study or institutions are not eligible, except for those from associated partners. Participants of the Synapses programme are particularly encouraged to apply.
Selected participants will receive a fully funded NeurotechEU scholarship which will cover their travel and accommodation expenses.
