Planning Your Career Beyond Academia

Radboud University invites doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from NeurotechEU partner universities to apply for the Professional Career Preparation course, delivered by Alma.Me.

The purpose of this course is to train PhD students and doctoral researchers how to strategically plan and execute a career transition outside of academia. This online, self-paced course covers the full arc of a career transition - from self-reflection and career exploration, through professional networking and job applications, to interview preparation and starting a new role.

Course Details

Dates: 19 October – 26 November 2026

Language of instruction: The course is delivered in English.

Format: Online and self-paced - work through the material in your own time

Credits: 1.5 ECTS

Who can apply: PhD candidates and postdocs from NeurotechEU partner universities. PhD candidates from the NeurotechEU Doctoral Network are welcome to apply.

How can you apply?

To be considered for as a participant on the Professional Career Preparation Course, please send the following documents to the NTEU Project Office in Bonn by the given deadline:

  • CV
  • Motivation letter (max. one page)
  • Verification of your status at Uni Bonn

If you are interested in exploring career paths beyond academia, please submit your application as a single PDF-file by e-mail by October 12, 2026 to Ms. Sina Loos. 

Following the course, all participants are expected to create a testimonial about their experience with NeurotechEU (more information to follow!).
